  • The tub should be leveled and hooked up by the plumber before the marble installation date. If you have a whirlpool tub the electrical should also be hooked up before we come.
  • Any inspections should be done before the marble installation date.
  • If we are installing a skirt (the front of the tub) the customer should have the frame work completed and recessed to 1”.
  • The walls must be sheet rocked. We ask that the sheet rock be raw,(no painting, floating, texture, or sizing) below or behind the height and width of the marble for proper adhesion. Green sheet rock is not acceptable, as it contains a sealer that will not allow our glues to properly adhere to it.
  • The location of the shampoo dish or accessory center is to be written on the sheet rock wall by the customer, otherwise the installer will locate it in a standard location. (The customer needs to consider the location of studs, vent pipes, plumbing pipes, electrical wires, etc.)
  • If the bathroom floor is to have tile, the tile needs to be installed first, before the skirt is installed.
  • Once the silicone caulking has been applied, it needs to dry for 24 hours, without water or anything else touching it to properly cure.

Showers

  • On all custom shower floors (any size up to 72” x 120”) the drain does not have to be centered, but will drain best when located as close to the center as possible. We prefer the shower floor to be recessed 5 ½” (the width of a 2×6) from the slab level. This will require a 2” PVC pipe to be stubbed up approximately 6” high and our installers will cut if to the correct height.
  • If the shower floor is not recessed a 2” PVC FHA drain and vinyl shower pan must be installed. This is normally supplied and installed by your plumber. However, we can provide and install the shower pan upon special request, but there will be an additional charge and you must have the 2” PVC pipe installed first.
  • The walls and ceiling must be sheet rocked. We ask that the sheetrock be raw, (no painting, floating, texture or sizing) for proper adhesion. Green sheetrock is not acceptable, as it contains a sealer that will not allow our glues to properly adhere to it.
  • A threshold must be built out of treated wood for a shower that is not recessed. It should either be made from 2- 2 x 6’s nailed together, standing up sideways or 3- 2 x 4’s stacked up to achieve the proper height.
  • The plumbing fixtures should be stubbed out to the proper measurements. The thickness of the marble is normally 3/8”, but after we add adhesive the overall thickness is ½”.
  • The location of the shampoo dish or accessory center is to be written on the sheetrock wall by the customer, otherwise the installer will locate it in a standard location. (The customer needs to consider the location of studs, vent pipes, plumbing pipes electrical wires, etc.)
  • Once the silicone caulking has been applied, it needs to dry for 24 hours, without water or anything touching it, to properly cure.

  • Tubs need to be delivered after the house is dried in and the doors and windows are hung, but before the sheet rock is hung.
  • Quality Sales prefers the tub to be installed against the studs, but this is not mandatory.
  • Quality Sales can normally get any tub through a 24” door opening.
  • Quality Sales tub heights will fall between 19” and 20”. The tubs require a 16” to 18” overflow. (called a Tall Boy Drain)
  • If a tub is to be installed upstairs, please inform us ahead of time so we can bring adequate help.
  • The tub will be set in the bathroom by Quality Sales. The plumber will slide the tub into its proper place while connecting the drain. The plumber is responsible for leveling the tub.
  • If Quality Sales is to drill holes for a deck mount faucet we will need advance notice, the faucets and the customer at the jobsites.
  • To clean cultured marble, please refer to Quality Sales Care Instructions.

Vanity Tops

  • We are not responsible for reconnecting the plumbing, Quality Sales Co. employees are not certified plumbers. The customer must arrange for their own plumbing.
  • We will measure for the vanity top and, or job after the cabinets have been secured to the wall.
  • For a coved backsplash vanity top the cabinet depth (from front to back) needs to be 21” to 21 ¼”. All other tops will be flat with separate splashes. Example: Angle tops, odd shapes or sizes.
  • For vanity tops with a coved backsplash the finished measurement will be:
    • Length – Cabinet length plus ¾”-1” overhang
    • Depth – 22”
    • Height – (on coved backsplash) – 4 ¾”
  • Once the silicone caulking has been applied, it needs to dry for 24 hours, without water or anything touching it, to properly cure.
  • If the marble or vanity tops are to be picked up by the customer, the customer needs to have adequate room in the vehicle. (We prefer a clean, open bed of a truck) The customer also needs to supply a rack to transport larger pieces of marble. ( A rack can be 2×4’s cut down to 72” or plywood cut down to 72”)
